Join Connecticut College Arboretum assistant director Maggie Redfern on a walk looking at notable trees of Harkness Memorial State Park. Hundreds of beautiful trees grace the magnificent landscape, such as tuliptree, ginkgo, Japanese cypress, catalpa, horse chestnut, apples and several species of maple. Many are unusual horticultural varieties unseen in their mature form. We will look at the biggest and the oldest as well as more recent plantings that were designed to complement the historic landscape.
